Joanne
Chief Executive Officer, Founder & Trustee

Joanne is the passionate founder and trustee of Lancashire TAAG, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and other neurodivergent conditions. Her journey began when both of her sons were diagnosed with autism and ADHD. Realising the lack of local support and resources, Joanne took the initiative to create a supportive community for families like hers.

In response to the overwhelming need for local support, Joanne secured initial funding from Chorley Council, which was instrumental in laying the foundation for Lancashire TAAG. Her dedication and vision led to the official registration of the charity in 2014. Since then, Joanne has worked tirelessly to expand the charity’s reach and impact, providing vital services and resources to countless families. Her successful fundraising efforts have enabled the charity to grow and sustain its services, securing grants and donations from various sources.

Joanne’s commitment to the charity is evident in her hands-on involvement with the charity’s programmes and initiatives. She actively participates in community events, workshops, and support groups, offering guidance and encouragement to families navigating similar journeys. Her personal experience and empathy make her a relatable and inspiring figure within the community.

Joanne has fostered strong relationships with local authorities, and other stakeholders to enhance support networks for neurodivergent individuals.

As a trustee, Joanne is dedicated to ensuring that Lancashire TAAG continues to provide comprehensive support and advocacy for neurodivergent individuals and their families. Her vision is to create an inclusive society where everyone has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

Outside of her work with the charity, Joanne enjoys spending time with her family, and running her own successful dog grooming salon.
